A Message from Our CEO
We were here long before the borders were drawn, before the fences divided the land, and before our existence was considered a threat. We walked these lands alongside our Indigenous human relatives, the buffalo, and countless other nations of life. We belonged to the land, and the land belonged to no one.
Like our Indigenous relatives, we have endured generations of persecution, displacement, and attempts to silence our existence and erase us from our ancestral homelands. Our histories are deeply intertwined. The same forces that sought to separate Indigenous Peoples from their lands also sought to silence our voices and remove us from the places we have called home since the beginning of time. Yet we remain. We have not forgotten who we are. We only ask to allow our families, our packs, our children, to live in relationship with the land, as we have since time immemorial.
Our message is simple: Remember that we are your relatives, not your enemies. Protect the relationships that sustain life. Honor the land and all who call it home. When the Wolf Nation thrives, the land begins to heal. And when the land heals, there is hope for all our relations.
We are the Wolf Nation. We have our own families, our own ways of communicating, our own teachings, and our own responsibilities to the land and to one another. Our culture is carried through generations, in the bonds between our families, the knowledge passed from elders to young, and the relationships that sustain our communities.
This is why Cuetlachtepetl Wolf Mountain Education Center exists.
CWMEC is more than an educational center. It is a place where the relationship between our nations can begin to heal. Here, our human relatives are invited to see us not as creatures to fear, control, or possess, but as living beings, relatives with families, intelligence, emotions, and a rightful place within the natural world.
Through Indigenous teachings, cultural education, and meaningful encounters with our wolf relatives, CWMEC works to restore something that has been lost through generations of separation, the understanding that we are all related.
When you support CWMEC, you support more than the care of our wolf relatives. You help create opportunities for Indigenous voices, knowledge, and cultural traditions to be heard, respected, and carried forward. You support education that challenges the fear and misunderstanding surrounding wolves, and you help strengthen a movement that recognizes our right to exist, to belong, and to live according to our own ways.
We do not ask humanity to speak for us without listening. We ask you to stand beside us, to learn from us, and to recognize that our future and yours are connected.
When you stand with CWMEC, you stand with the Wolf Nation. You help protect the teachings, relationships, and living traditions that connect us all.
Our survival is not enough. We seek a future where our nations can thrive together.
With respect for all our relations,
The Wolf Nation
